Mr Neff, who has stood twice previously for Greater Shepparton City Council, is well known in the community for many years of fundraising work with Berry Street, Relay for Life, Give Me 5 for Kids and the Christmas Alone lunch. He has pledged, if elected, to donate his entire councillor payment to the Goulburn Valley Community Fund, saying he believes ‘‘serving the community as a councillor is such a honour and is a privilege ... to me that is my payment’’.
Mr Neff says he has the capacity, desire and ability to continue to serve the community as a councillor.
He says he can think independently, but at the same time be a team player and aim to achieve the best results for ratepayers.
Mr Neff says he has the passion, enthusiasm and commitment needed for the role but he is also prepared to work within the council’s guidelines, policies and procedures, while complying with the councillor code of conduct and acting with ‘‘integrity and professionalism at all times’’.
He says his vision for Greater Shepparton is one of economic prosperity, and by celebrating the multicultural aspect of the region, the liveability of the community would be enhanced.
